In the event of your appointment being cancelled, you will not be entitled to any leave of absence or pay after the date of the letter by which the cancellation is notified to you, unless the Governor, subject to the approval of the Secretary of State, shall grant it on special grounds.

I am to request that you will inform me whether you wish to accept this appointment & if so what is the earliest date at which you will be prepared to leave for the Colony, in order that the necessary communications may be made to the Governor and to the Crown Agents.
10. With reference to your letter, I observe that they have expressed their intention to appoint a nurse who has been trained in disinfecting in connection with a vacancy in the Victoria Hospital.
